Distributor Council
The Professional Beauty Association has three Leadership Councils. Each council is made up of dedicated members who have taken an active role in the association. There is one for each membership group: Distributor, Manufacturer and Salon/Spa. The Leadership Councils handle issues germane to their membership.

Sydney Berry has been with Salon Services & Supplies for twenty-seven years. Sydney was hired in 1980 by the original owners as their first Business Consultant, was promoted to Sales Manager, then General Manager, then President. Sydney, her husband Miles and George Learned had the opportunity to purchase Salon Services & Supplies, Inc. from the original owners in 1997.
As a licensed cosmetologist, and a former salon owner, Sydney embraced the opportunity to interact with a broad range of people, which has built Salon Services & Supplies into a distinctive force in the Pacific Northwest. She has been actively involved in the beauty industry for over thirty years. Her commitment to the salon industry is powerfully demonstrated by the continual investment made by Salon Services in providing education to its constituents. She developed a networking group at the beginning of her career in distribution which continues today specifically for the salon owners to grow their business with the strengths they share.
Sydney's family includes her husband Miles; children Stacy, Jeremy, and Tiffany and grandson Kanon.

Josh Hafetz was recently named President of Raylon Corporation, a full service distributor servicing salons in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware. Prior to joining Raylon as Director of Sales for New Jersey in 2000, Josh was a Regional Sales Manager for ISO in California. Josh's passion for the Beauty Industry is rooted in his enjoyment of the incredible people that make this industry so amazing. He regularly provides educational outreach to stylists and salon owners to help them achieve greater financial and personal success in their careers. Over the last 2 years Josh has increased his involvement in the industry by serving on the PBA Distributor Leadership Council. Through his service as a member of the PBA Distributor Leadership Council and PBA Governing Council Josh hopes to continue to contribute to the future success of the industry.

As president of Neill Corporation, Edwin is responsible for the overall strategy and operations of the company, including the primary businesses of Aveda Distribution, Extended Technologies, Etopa and the Paris Parker Salon and Spa Group. Active in all areas of the business, his previous roles with Neill Corporation have included Distribution Management, Executive Vice President and CFO.
Prior to rejoining the family business, Edwin practiced commercial litigation at the New Orleans law firm of Stone Pigman. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Tulane Family Business Center and is Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Salon and Spa Relief Foundation. He is also a Director and Executive Officer of the Salon and Spa Relief Fund, a charitable organization dedicated to helping salons and spas recover from disasters.
Peter Garzone

After college, Peter entered the financial industry as a securities salesman for a small brokerage firm, which he eventually owned at age 26. He sold the firm to associates and entered the family jewelry manufacturing business.
Peter had previously helped his wife open her first salon. After being involved in the salon business, he realized that the salon industry was where he wanted to spend his professional career. The salon had the good fortune to associate itself with a new, fashion-forward company named Sebastian International. Peter approached Sebastian to ask for local distributorship opportunities and he became a Sebastian distributor-a relationship that lasted for over 27 years. After 15 years in business, Professional Salon Services Inc began to add non-competing lines, to get to where the company is today: offering products in all categories with supporting education.
Steve Neumaier

As a lifelong Rochester, NY area resident, Steven started the distributorship with his father Hans in 1976 and was the first Goldwell distributor in the United States in 1982. Goldwell of New York currently services 3,000 salons in the Upstate New York Market with 18 DSC's, 4 Professional Stores and 53 total employees. The company was recognized as one of Rochester's Top 100 Growing Companies for four years.
Steven has been married to his wife Maureen for 18 years and they have two children: Anna (11) and Thomas (6). In addition to his role as President at Goldwell of New York, Steven is actively involved with Junior Achievement and his church.
Bob Peel Jr.

Bob has worked together with his dad and brother for the last 33 years. In the last 5 years, three daughters, one son and two son-in-laws have joined the company. Peel's Salon Service started in Hutchinson, Kansas in 1939 and was the first Redken and Matrix distributor in the US.
Bob has served on the BBSI and PBA board for the last 19 years. As a City of Hope honoree in 2000, Bob raised over $1,000,000 for breast cancer research. In Hutchinson, Peel's annually helps to raise $50,000 for low income housing.
One of Peel's Salon Services strengths is the salon equipment business, with equipment showrooms and designers in Hutchinson, Kansas City, St Louis, Omaha, Denver and Rapid City. They are also the largest Kaemark furniture distributors in the U.S.
In 1984 Bob and his brother ventured into the school business. They have opened schools in Wichita, Denver, Grand Island, Kansas City, Omaha and St Louis. Over the last 20 years over 2,000 professional students have graduated from their schools.
Today Peel's has 52 professional only stores, over 100 sales consultants, and 570 total employees. They presently service over 20,000 salons in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming.

Bill Ranney is a former VP of Clairol and Chief Operating Officer of Aveda, with more then 40 years of sales and management experience in the consumer and professional product industry. Bill has earned a respected reputation as a beauty marketing expert and is currently the owner of Creative Salon Concepts, an award winning distributor of professional salon beauty products in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Delaware.
Bill is a past president of the BBSI, has served on the PBA Governing Council and is currently serving his second term on the PBA Distributor Leadership Council. Bill has also served as a board member for North American Beauty Events, producers of Cosmoprof North America.
Lori Silverstein

Lori grew up in the beauty business, as her father Hal opened one of the first "open to the public" stores in San Mateo, CA in 1959. Lori joined her father in 1975, helping to build the store, nail by nail. Lori was lucky to learn many things from her father and they shared great dreams and ideas for the business together. Lori's father taught her about the importance of relations within the industry and in life-"You get out what you put in."
Lori feels it is important to give back. Peninsula supports many local non-profits by donating portions of sales, as well as product, to them throughout the year. Lori feels fortunate to be part of the Distributor Leadership Council and hopes to be able to make a difference. She can't wait for the day when her son Jason (14) follows in his mother and papa's footsteps!
