About Ann Mincey

Beauty is about looking great; nutrition involves feeling good; and wellness leads to living better. A pioneer in combining all three, Ann Mincey is author of "Get Glowing! You are a Star Right Where You Are!" and founder of Starshine Systems Inc., a company inspiring brilliance in people and businesses through the spoken and written word.

Though change is the only standard in the salon industry, Ann has stayed true to her values - having unwavering respect for salon professionals and their clients. Teaching salon professionals her unique view "from the chair up," inspiring their commitment to surpass client expectations, is her personal mission.

For 35 years, her programs have helped beauty professionals improve their business, reduce stress, refuel creativity and enrich their lives. Ann's passion for promoting beauty-from-the-inside-out is organic. A minister's daughter who was nurtured by optimistic affirmations, she began her career selling nutritional supplements for Redken in 1975. Ann was one of the first women to teach motivation, inspiration, confidence and well-being and advanced to Redken 5th Avenue NYC's Vice President of Global Communications before recently retiring. She has trained thousands of salon professionals worldwide in the art of living better.

In 2010, Ann is thrilled to be working closely with the Professional Beauty Association to present the Business of Beauty research report to educate and inspire salon professionals on what it means to "spoil" their best customers while maximizing their profitability and building their brand.
