The Petition

- Licensing is a government activity undertaken to protect the health and safety of the public;

- States require salon professionals to be licensed to practice their craft and conduct business;

- Licensing requirements can vary widely from state to state;

- License mobility allows a licensed professional in good standing - whose documentation in education and experience is substantially equivalent - to be able to qualify for licensure from one state to another without further examination;

- We the undersigned urge lawmakers to support license mobility - whereby salon professionals can relocate from one state to another with minimal interruption to their ability to practice their trade.
