PBA is proud to introduce a brand new program created exclusively for members of the Salon/Spa Section of PBA. PBA Cutting Edge Mentor Program will match experienced salon and spa owners with new or struggling owners looking for advice and support. More than 20 mentors have already been nominated by their peers to serve in the program. The program will expand in the years ahead as members who were once mentees, choose to become mentors themselves.
Each mentor has willingly offered to donate one full day per year to mentor an emerging salon or spa that requests his/her mentor's business expertise on specific topics. Topics can range from finance to staffing to décor, and anything in between. At the request of their mentee, the mentors have agreed to travel to visit the mentee owner's salon or spa for a full day of mentoring. Mentees are responsible for their mentor's travel expenses.
Mentors are chosen based on:
Years in the beauty industry
Business philosophy and expertise (used to match mentor and mentee)
Significant and long-term contributions, personal and professional, to the professional beauty industry
Professional and ethical business practices
PBA's Membership Department will match a member with a mentor according to the requesting member's specific business needs and the mentor's area of expertise. No mentor is matched with a salon or spa in a competitive location. The mentor must be willing to travel to the requesting member's locale.
