Wow! 2008 started with a bang with the first ever Distributor Summit and the 12th Annual Symposium and it was incredible.
During the first PBA Distribution and Sales Summit Dr. Rick Johnson, the CEO Strategist, presented two separate classes, one on Maximizing Sales Effectiveness and the other on Profit is Not a Dirty Word. Rick provided attendees with the knowledge to build the skills of management and leadership with habits of sales success: Accountability, Managing the Pipeline, Sales Planners, Training, Hiring, Performance Reviews and Evaluations. I highly recommend signing up for his monthly newsletter, The Howl, on his website ceostrategist.com. Rick wrote a wrap-up article on the Summit for this issue of PBA Progress, for attendees and non-attendees alike to review (read it now). The day ended with networking between distributor attendees on how to develop our business models more effectively.

As the Distribution and Sales Summit came to an end, attendees joined the Salon/Spa Section in the Symposium 12: It's About Time program! With a number of industry keynotes, breakout sessions and the inaugural meeting of the Best Practice Club, it was, what many are saying, the best Symposium yet! All the speakers were incredible in their content and delivery. Eric Fisher inspired the attendees with his goal to manage the client experience and to create the WOW factor. Robert Cromeans had the audience spellbound with his goal to build hair designers who passionately convey their love of the beauty industry and how to capture a client's loyalty with a total sensory experience.
The Las Vegas location was unveiled as the next site for a July 2009 Symposium! I hope to see all PBA Sections participate in the 2009 program, as membership with the PBA develops the business acumen necessary for everyone to build our respective businesses together!
