Young Talent Program

Helping New Employees Build Their Careers in the Salon Industry

Cosmetology students have an exceptionally low rate of success within the first 6 and 12 months of being in the field, with failure rates estimated to between 50% and 80%. Most salon owners lack a program or tool to teach their new staff members essential skills such as: how to be an employee, how to build a book, setting goals, prioritizing and other basic business building skills.

PBA has put together a taskforce to develop a Young Talent Program, which will help salon owners and managers train new employees on how to successfully build a career in the salon. The program would have three components: a manual for salon owners, a workbook for new stylists (students) and a live education/workshop piece.

Do you have a successful training program in place that you would be willing to share? Do you have a passion for this topic and want to learn how you can get involved in the taskforce? Please contact Samantha Alvis at samantha@probeauty.org or call 800-468-2274 (480-281-0424) x117 to learn more.
