Letter from the Leadership

The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) has been busy over the past year enhancing programs and services for our members. Perhaps most noticeable is the growing strength of our Government Affairs program. The work of a group of dedicated volunteers and our Director of Government & Industry Affairs, Sam Leyvas, has allowed PBA's Government Affairs program to expand over the past two years. This includes regular communication to our members through the Washington Update and Regulatory Notes e-communications, as well as aggressive work on the FICA Tax Credit for Salon Owners, IRS Regulations and a number of other issues important to members of PBA. In addition to the importance of working on government affairs issues, the leadership of the association also realizes the importance of training and educating the future leaders of the industry. At Cosmoprof North America, PBA launched the new Future Leaders Network (FLN), an opportunity for the future leaders of the association and the industry to network and learn from their industry peers and heroes.
