A Letter from the Leadership
Symposium is fast approaching-January 20-23, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas. It is one of the rare occasions that allow for all segments of the beauty industry to come together in the spirit of business building. Salon teams attend, while distributors and manufacturers have a huge opportunity to interact with their salon customers through sponsorships and education. As PBA manufacturer member Jack Storey of Scruples says, "Symposium gives you the chance to visit with salon owners and staff about some of the challenges they face every day with clients, sales people and distributors. Most important, you can learn what they are looking for from manufacturers."
John Galietti, Vice President-Education for the salon/spa section, and the dedicated members on the Symposium Committee have put together a business-education event like none other. The theme is all about team, communication and success-three things that can only happen when you "Get in the Game!" The program is full of impressive speakers, in-depth breakouts and purposeful networking opportunities. The education on offer benefits both the salons and spas that attend and their business partners. "In participating with the Symposium for the last eleven years, Salon Services has seen a shift in our salon community that has evolved significantly due to the opportunity extended with networking and knowledge benchmarking," says Sydney Berry, PBA distributor section member.
This year's Symposium features new and exciting segments. Monday morning starts off with "Breakfast Huddles," an opportunity for salon/spa members to network with peers on over 20 topics such as "Interviewing New Team Players" and "Build Outs: What the Pros Have Learned." Breakout sessions are target-audience specific, so there's a place just for the salon's front-line staffers to get what they need! Symposium is going green-education materials will be available for download before the event and on site rather than printing environmentally costly and hefty manuals!
We also have a great incentive this year for members to bring along their management team. When you purchase two Symposium tickets, you get a third free-and each additional ticket is available for just $295.
Now more than ever there is something for everyone at Symposium. My entire leadership team will be there from both my salon and school! I hope all sections of PBA will encourage salon owners and their teams to attend to gain skills to take their business to the championship level.
Namastae,
