Manufacturer representatives are a valued portion of the PBA membership with a unique perspective on the industry. We asked PBA rep member Harlan Kirschner, President of The Kirschner Group, to sound off on the state of the industry:

"It would appear a new season is upon us and with it more exciting changes in the beauty industry. If you are still running your business as you did 10 years ago you may not be running it for long. We have entered a far more sophisticated era in which planning, organization, presentation and details are critical to succeed. Unlike 10 years ago when one size fit most, our customers' needs, demographics and business plans are more unique than ever before. Support and creative approaches to doing business are ever more common in today's presentations. I see just as many opportunities today to grow as anytime in the past. As much as things seem to change, remember that consumers have stayed the same. The salons, hairdressers, manicurists, and end users are still our target audience-and they want professional quality salon products."
