As the founder of CEO Strategist and as a veteran of the wholesale distribution industry with more than 30 years of executive management experience, Johnson knows exactly what it takes to create leaders within a company and how to maximize every sale to its full potential.

Johnson spent the first 10 years of his career employed by the largest steel distributor in the world. Challenging himself to take what he had learned and forge a venture of his own, he built a $25 million wholesale distribution business in less than 10 years.

After selling his business, he decided to share his success secrets by taking the helm of troubled businesses as a “turnaround” expert. He helped set new directions for companies with revenue from $50 to $400 million, leading them from loss to profit. More recently, Rick has brought his expertise to the business consultant arena, where he utilizes his unique formulas for making businesses profitable.

His down-to-earth presentations of key business principles help companies succeed as total solution providers. His keynote speeches and popular workshops focus on strategic leadership, sales effectiveness and the power of unlocking employee potential, all the while imparting rubber-meets-the-road leadership skills 35 years in business have taught him.

Magee started his first sales and marketing firm at age 15 and sold it to a Fortune 500 company before going to college. By age 24, he was recognized by a Fortune 500 company as their top salesman in the nation. At the same time, he became the youngest certified Sales Instructor in the world for the Dale Carnegie Sales Course.

After experiencing downsizing in 1987, Magee prevailed and was employed within 24 hours as a sales associate for the largest youth marketing/advertising agency in the US. Within two years, he was promoted to Vice President of Sales.

In addition to consulting with firms such as Anheuser-Busch, Harley-Davidson, Pfizer Pharmaceutical, Clear Channel Communications and Boeing, Magee was selected to design, train and present a new series of national leadership and sales recruitment programs for more than the 5,000 professional sales recruiters and sales managers with the U.S. Army National Guard.

Today Magee is the writer of the nationally syndicated Leadership Column, which you may have seen in your own city’s Business Journal newspaper. He is also the publisher of PERFORMANCE Magazine, and the author of 21 books, including The Sales Training Handbook and it!
