Database Administrator, Full-time


The Professional Beauty Association is the largest and most inclusive trade organization representing all segments of the beauty industry. We exist to elevate, unite and serve the beauty industry and the professionals that improve people’s lives.

PBA is located in Scottsdale, Arizona and offers a flexible work week, great benefits and an inviting work culture. PBA owns a state-of-the-art headquarters building, proudly boasting ergonomic workspace, flex space and an inviting atmosphere.  Our remote work policy allows for up to three days a week remote with Tuesdays & Wednesdays in the office.  Remote work will be considered for this position.


The Database Administrator (DA) is the lead internal subject matter expert and is responsible for managing the Association Management System (AMS) on a day-to-day basis. This role works closely with all departments and will require an ongoing knowledge of internal goals and overall processes. The DA also needs to be a strong collaborator and should be dedicated to improving the overall database usage within the organization. 


  • Serves as the primary database administrator for the Association’s AMS (NetForum Enterprise)
  • Responsible for maintaining the AMS, including administrative functions
  • Manages ongoing AMS enhancement projects, identifying areas for improvement in the AMS platform
  • Develops and maintains internal processes to ensure accuracy of data in AMS, and is responsible for overall data integrity
  • Writes/edits Standard Operating Procedures for new/amended processes and provides training as needed to all members of the organization. 
  • Creates and maintains custom reports as requested by departments including finance
  • Responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, bugs, or errors encountered by staff
  • Liaises and partners with vendors to provide technical support to association staff
  • Communicate with staff regularly on systems initiatives and upgrade statuses
  • Performs other duties as identified and assigned


  • Minimum 5-years’ experience in database administration, NetForum Enterprise experience a plus
  • Exceptional knowledge of general business processes and workflows
  • Strong project management, data management and training & support skills
  • Ability to decipher and organize large amounts of data
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid business acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
