Beacon opened my eyes and made me love what I do all over again.

Beacon was the push I needed. I have often felt intimidated or insecure about my place in this industry, but I was reminded again and again of my “why” and my place. Beacon opened my eyes to the many opportunities beyond behind the chair and the many ways I can invite my own passions and personal experiences into my career. I can’t wait for graduation and the start of my career, where I will be able to inspire and feed those coming into the industry as others have given to me. Knowledge is the most gracious gift someone can give, and that is exactly what I received this past weekend from the most brilliant and beautiful in the world of cosmetology.

Before Beacon my plan was graduate school, get a job and work in the beauty industry as a stylist. Attending Beacon changed my entire mind-frame when it came to not just my original “plan” but also myself as a stylist. Beacon helped me view myself as a brand and something bigger then just being a hair stylist. It opened up my eyes to the many different paths within the industry that I can take. It opened me up to editorial styling and just has made me rethink everything in the best possible way.
