SALES ASSOCIATE - FULL TIME

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: General Manager of Events

LOCATION: Scottsdale, Arizona / Open to Remote

OVERVIEW: The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) is a non-profit membership organization, with members and a Board of Directors representing licensed professionals, salons, manufacturers, distributors, schools, and students. PBA produces two established trade shows and other related events annually, the International Salon + Spa Expo in Long Beach, CA and Cosmoprof North America in Las Vegas, NV, as part of a joint venture.

The Sales Associate is responsible for achieving exhibit booth sales, sponsorship and advertising goals of more than $8 million through a combination of personal sales and working with an Integrated Sales Team comprised of PBA event sales, membership, education and marketing staff.

PBA is located in sunny, Scottsdale, Arizona and offers a flexible work week, great benefits and an inviting work culture. PBA recently relocated to a state-of-the-art building, proudly boasting ergonomic workspace, flex space and an inviting atmosphere.

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Manage assigned general and key accounts.
  • Facilitate revenue generation for PBA events and sales initiatives through booth assignments, sponsorships, educational opportunities, advertising and memberships.
  • Provides telephone and electronic communication outreach for prospecting and closing booth sales, sponsorships and advertising.
  • Provides outstanding customer service and follow up with current and potential customers.
  • Understands and implements strategies for new lead prospecting and sales.
  • Establishes effective communications with sales managers, support staff, other departments, executive management and members of the Integrated Sales Team.
  • Supports PBA in providing a progressively positive member experience.
  • Represents the Integrated Sales Team at industry events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work and communicate positively with all levels within the organization and with potential exhibitors and PBA members.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects and competing tasks/priorities.
  • Proven project management, sales and relationship development skills.
  • Understanding of event logistics and floorplans.
  • Proficient in a Microsoft Windows environment using the Microsoft Office Suite and browser-based applications. Knowledge of A2Z booth tracking system or similar exposition management system a plus!
  • Ability to travel overnight and have flexibility to work nights and weekends to accommodate annual events, board meetings and prospecting at other events.
  • Beauty industry knowledge a plus.

Membership Database Manager - Full Time

WHO WE ARE: The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) located in Scottsdale, Arizona provides advocacy and resources to support companies and licensed professionals working in the professional beauty industry.

PBA is a non-profit organization that provides a family oriented and collaborative team environment. Telecommuting is allowed for this position.

POSITION SUMMARY: PBA is searching for a Membership Manager who is customer service and detail oriented and technically savvy. They are responsible for maintaining a clean and accurate database(s) for all member data and committed to providing exceptional customer service to our members. This individual will report to the Director of Member Engagement and will support our quest to reach overall membership and revenue growth objectives.
Please note, this position is not a marketing or social media role. Experience with a member management system (e.g., NetForum) preferred.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Member Experience
    • Respond to inquiries from members and non-members on association activities and programs while maintaining knowledge of PBA programs, products, services and benefits
    • Respond to general membership inquiries regarding benefits, applications, payments, refunds, invoices, member cards, and website logins
    • Convey confidence and enthusiasm in the value of PBA membership
  • AMS Database Integrity
    • Perform routine maintenance of membership database to ensure database accuracy
    • Maintain accuracy of product inventories within database
    • Manage user accounts by changing roles and privileges; and reset passwords as needed
    • Assist in developing and executing routine data cleanup processes and procedures
  • Transactional: Membership Processing/Annual Dues
    • Serve as primary support agent for payment processing including managing all aspects of batching and refunds
    • Manage monthly invoicing process
  • Internal and External Reports
    • Prep and deliver member data to PBA partners
    • Prepare and deliver monthly membership reports for internal team
    • Run queries and deliver data as requested by internal team
    • Identify data success measures and monitor progress
  • Technical
    • Support Database Administrator with troubleshooting and resolving database issues related to performance, security, recovery, or integrity in an accurate and timely manner
    • Understand the cross-module functions of NetForum to determine the impact of database changes on other systems and processes
    • Support work plans to test applied NetForum service packs and upgrades to ensure data integrity and functionality of the database.
  • Empower Staff
    • Assist with empowering and training staff with database-related needs, including updating data with accuracy and consistency to uphold business rules and answering user questions
    • Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), end user software documentation, and training materials including quick reference guides
    • Support Database Administrator and PBA vendors to integrate other software programs with NetFORUM and monitor the integration

QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERTISE:

  • Minimum of three years-experience with database administration
  • Strong data entry and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with database languages such as SQL a plus • Association membership software management experience preferable (Salesforce/NetForum)
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office to include: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to decipher and organize large amounts of data
  • Analytical mindset with superb communication and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Detailed-oriented with great organizational skills
