Adir Abergel Styles Nicole Kidman, Sunday Rose, and Gwendoline Christie at the 2026 Met Gala

May 4, 2025 – Tonight, Virtue® takes over the 2026 Met Gala red carpet with standout hair moments created by one of the industry’s most sought-after hair stylists.

Virtue Creative Director and celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel styled world renowned actress Nicole Kidman, co-chair of this year’s Met Gala, alongside her daughter Sunday Rose and actress Gwendoline Christie, creating a series of head turning looks for each talent.

In celebration of this year’s Met Gala theme ‘Costume as Art’, Adir drew from the theme while conceptualizing and designing the hairstyles.

Each look was crafted using Virtue®products, Denman, BHBD Hair Extensions, and Shark Beauty.

ADIR ABERGEL X NICOLE KIDMAN

THE INSPIRATION:  Adir Abergel was inspired by the striking lines and reflective shine of Nicole’s dress, crafting a hairstyle that echoed the same sense of light and movement. The look channels an effortless French-girl je ne sais quoi, balancing polish with an air of ease.

THE LOOK: Soft, barely-there bangs that feel effortless and flirtatious balanced by extra-long, ultra-glossy healthy hair.

STYLING HOW TO:

  1. The night before I  like to have my clients start with Virtue Recovery Shampoo and Virtue Recovery Conditioner to get hair as shiny and healthy as possible before a big moment
  2. The morning of the event on towel dried hair I used my favorite Denman D38 Detangling Brush to delicately brush out any knots.
  3. I then followed by applying Virtue Damage Reverse Serum and a few pumps of Virtue Healing Oil to help protect and reverse damage in hair prior to blowout.
  4. I began by blowdrying  with a Denman paddle and Shark Beauty FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System to get the bangs to sweep perfectly and create just the right amount of shine and polish to the hair.
  5. I then added 60 cm extensions in shade 9NG/11N  by BHBD, perfectly matching Nicole’s color and texture.
  6. To finish the look, I warmed a few drops of Virtue’s Healing Oil between my hands, gently tilted her head, and smoothed it through her long, golden locks for an added veil of luster and shine.

ADIR ABERGEL X SUNDAY ROSE

THE INSPIRATION:  The inspiration was rooted in strength and femininity. We played with length and the health of the hair to evoke a sense of youthful, effortless playfulness.

THE LOOK: A middle-parted, ultra-long 30-inch style, finished with a soft bend and high-gloss shine to catch and reflect the Met Gala lights.

STYLING HOW TO:

  1. The night before the Met, I had Sunday treat her hair with Virtue Smooth Shampoo and Virtue Smooth Conditioner to get the most lux shine possible.
  2. The morning of the event I applied Damage Reverse Serum all over her hair and Virtue Volumizing Primer at the roots. This is a great base to create a strong and healthy foundation that will last all night.
  3. Using a Denman D38 Detangling Brush I delicately detangled.
  4. Next I applied Virtue 6-in-1 Styler all over her hair. Using the Shark Beauty Air Styling & Drying System with the Styling Concentrator attachment and Denman D83 Gentle Paddle I blow dried her hair smooth and straight.
  5. I then added ultra-long 60 cm extensions from BHBD in shades 5NG/6NG, for the perfect match and to achieve the desired length.
  6. Next I coiled some hair around my fingers and applied heat with the Shark Beauty FlexStyle to create an uneven slight bend throughout.
  7. To finish I added some of Virtue’s Healing Oil to seal and shine the style.  The result was reflective and full of movement.

ADIR ABERGEL X GWENDOLINE CHRISTIE

THE INSPIRATION:   It began with the Giles Deacon dress and the strength of Gwendoline’s spirit. Looking at John Dinger Sargent paintings, I was inspired by the color palette and cool, arctic icy tones of  hair.  

THE LOOK: Middle parted arctic colored hair that felt soft & undone yet dreamy, powerful and other worldly adorned with a custom headpiece by Stephen Jones.

STYLING HOW TO:

  1. We started by using Virtue Recovery Shampoo and Virtue Recovery Conditioner the night before to create that extra healthy looking hair.
  2. I then applied Damage Reverse Serum and Flourish Thickening Styling Treatment to prep the hair for softness and volume.
  3. I gave the hair a polished blowout, creating soft movement and an effortless finish.
  4. I then added BHBD extensions for extra fullness and length, using a color combination called Platinum White.
  5. To create those perfect bends, I used a 2 inch iron and created soft uneven waves throughout her hair in a natural, effortless  pattern. 
  6. I then anchored the intricate headpiece, creating an elegant refined balance between length and width.
  7. To finish, I applied Virtue Healing Oil all over for a luminous health shine.
