PBA’s CUT IT OUT® Reaches $100,000 Milestone Supporting Survivors in the Beauty Industry
The Professional Beauty Association’s CUT IT OUT® program has officially distributed more than $100,000 through its Strength in Beauty grants to licensed professionals across the U.S. who have experienced domestic abuse.
This milestone represents so much more than a number. It represents stability restored, careers protected, and individuals given the ability to move forward on their own terms.
What Strength in Beauty Makes Possible
For many in the professional beauty industry, work is more than a paycheck. It’s independence, identity, and community.
When domestic violence disrupts that foundation, the impact is immediate and far-reaching. Income is lost. Housing becomes uncertain. Safety becomes the priority.
The Strength in Beauty grant exists to meet that moment.
Through direct financial assistance, the Strength in Beauty grant provides licensed beauty professionals with the support needed to rebuild both financially and professionally. From emergency relief to employment placement, the program is designed to remove immediate barriers and create a path forward.
Survivors aren’t starting over alone. They’re supported by an industry that recognizes both their talent and their resilience.
Why This Work Matters
PBA’s CUT IT OUT® was created to equip beauty professionals to recognize the signs of abuse and respond with awareness, compassion, and action. The Strength in Beauty grant extends that mission beyond education, providing immediate, tangible support when it matters most.
The beauty industry is uniquely positioned to respond because it’s built on trust and close relationships. It exists in environments where people see one another consistently, where changes are noticed, and where care can take root.
This work goes beyond intervention. It’s about continuity. Ensuring that a career, a livelihood, and a future are not lost in the moment someone needs support most.
A Milestone, and a Call Forward
Reaching $100,000 in distributed grants is a significant step. It reflects both the urgency of the need and the commitment of an industry willing to show up.
But we know the work doesn’t stop here. There are more professionals who need support. More conversations that need to happen. More awareness must be built within salons, schools, and workplaces across the country.
PBA’s CUT IT OUT® continues to stand as a resource for education, advocacy, and direct assistance, ensuring that no one in this industry has to navigate abuse or its aftermath alone.
